This is a chance for literature lovers to meet and talk to authors.
"We could start this post with "literature is sharing". Or another of the countless empty phrases that are supposed to extol its virtues. And they only convince those who say them.
Let's not kid ourselves. No one has ever rushed into a bookshop after being told by a teacher or a TV presenter, with a satisfied smile on their lips, that literature is a shared experience.
Literature is not an abstraction. Literature is above all books, authors, stories, heroes and bastards.
To read is to feel emotions you didn't even know existed. Without having to answer to anyone. You have to grab a book, devour it or abandon it without qualms, hate it when everyone else loves it, or love it when everyone else hates it. And feel entitled to do so.
You don't need to have studied hard to be exhilarated by reading Martin Eden. No matter what your background or age, anyone who has once read The Conjuring of Fools will want to read it again and again. Even if you know Tolkien's work by heart, you can fall in love with that of Mishima or Boccaccio. And, rest assured, The Master and Margarita's power of fascination doesn't mince its words.
At Libri Mondi, we believe in literature without exclusivity, without dogma or sacred cows. And it's this kind of literature that we'll continue to defend, edition after edition, as long as you keep coming back for more. "
