A FIERA DI U CASGIU

The aim of this event, which is a member of the FFRRAAC (French Federation of Agricultural Fairs and Rural Routes in Corsica) is to support, promote and highlight the island?s pastoral life and rural cheese-making industry via the exhibition and sale of farm-produced cheeses and all other artisanal products made on the island. Every year a regional competition of farm-produced Corsican cheese is held, involving the selection of a regional jury, training courses and tastings, as well as the awarding of prizes to cheese-makers whose products respect traditional production methods. THE 5 TYPES OF CHEESES All benefiting from a PGI, Bastelicacciu, Calenzana, Niulincu, Sartinesu, Venachese are represented at the fair. AN ENCOUNTER A citizen debate with the sectors around pastoralism and sustainable development. A CONTEST Organized every year for each category, announcements are made during or after the fair depending on production. DEMONSTRATIONS Tundera and cheese making throughout the fair.
