EASTER HOLIDAYS: CERCA PROCESSION

In the old Pieve de Brando (start of Cap Corse), on the morning of Good Friday, the "Cerca" procession of the four local Confréries takes place from church to church over a route of more than 14 kilometres, through the hamlets of Brando (Erbalunga, Castello, Poretto and Pozzo). There are halts along the way in each of the eleven churches and chapels where song and prayer are offered up. At nightfall it is the "Granitola" procession (symbolic procession describing a spiral, coiling and uncoiling itself) which takes its place.
